Jack Brabham (1926-2014)

Sir Jack Brabham, a three-time World Champion, has died at his home in Australia at the age of 88.

Brabham won World Championships twice driving for Cooper in 1959 and again in 1960 and won a final time in a car of his own manufacture, the Brabham-Repco in 1966 when he also won the Constructors’ championship. The Brabham dynasty was more than his cars and World Championships. His three sons, Geoff, David and Gary have all competed at top levels of motor racing. and now the third Brabham generation are also starting their racing careers.

One of the all time greats has left us.

First saw Black Jack at Monaco in his under-powered Cooper His drive that day was impressive.
Now we only have S. Moss and Tony Brooks , the Vanwall Team mates
    from that 1957 season.

  2. A unique contributor to motor sport has gone, taken by the inexorable march of time. He leaves many memories, memorabilia and trophies. I count myself very fortunate in that I met him a number of times through business, working for his latter day F1 tyre supplier Goodyear. In Australia he was regarded as a tough competitor without peer and was always welcome at automotive functions as speaker and guest throughout his golden years. Rest in peace Sir jack.
