KLEMANTASKI – Master Motorsports Photographer is a book that every racing enthusiast should own. It contains over 300 black and white and color Klemantaski images in its 272 pages which are accompanied by illuminating text and captions by famous motoring author Paul Parker. Louis Klemantaski was perhaps the greatest motor racing photographer of all time, active when lensmen stood right at the edge of the track, impervious to the danger, while the drivers passed by but inches away. Klemantaski’s races include British and Continental road races such as the Mille Miglia and Le Mans as well as numerous Grand Prix races.
For those interested in such things, the car above on the cover is being driven by John Surtees during practice for the Peco Trophy Race at Brands Hatch on August 5, 1962. This Ferrari 250GTO had a difficult racing life as its subsequent young American owner managed to crash it comprehensively at least twice, Today it is owned by another American who is the longest standing 250GTO owner, having acquired his automotive trophy for but a few thousand dollars in 1967.
Thank you for your support of The Klemantaski Collection. We look forward to hearing from you.
